El Estar Presente

"El Estar Presente" (To Be Present) was a sacred experience I cocreated with CA Art Collective, Mario Cardin and Ara Calderon, in collaboration with sound healer Sergio Limon. The essence of the event was to cultivate pure presence—an immersive meditation and sound healing session designed to strip away distractions: no phones, no talking,—only the transformative power of being fully present.

The choice of artwork by CA Collective was deeply intentional; their pieces evoke the energy of the chakras and resonate with a profound spiritual vibration. When I first encountered their work, I was struck by its spiritual depth, making it the perfect foundation for a journey into inner awareness. The artwork was hung in the outdoor stairwell of WOMB, creating a sacred space where the silent meditation could unfold.

After forty minutes of sound healing, participants quietly entered a space of reflection, allowing the energy of the artwork and the practice to settle deeply within. Guided by a galactic host Mauricio Hernandez, participants were gently led through this spiritual journey—beginning with intention, and culminating in a collective moment of silence and gratitude, as they shared fruit in stillness. The experience then moved to the top terrace, where Sergio continued his sound healing with eyes open and in community, fostering connection through shared presence.

At the close, we invited everyone to share their reflections, creating a profound space of openness and vulnerability. This experience revealed a truth I hold deeply: art is most powerful when we simply *be* with it, without the distraction of documentation or analysis. It was a reminder that true engagement with art is a spiritual practice—an opportunity to connect, to listen, and to simply *be* in the moment."
