You Are Loved Necklace Collection

In 2017, I spent months in Cuba, a period of quiet rebirth after leaving a marriage. I was rejoining my art, uncertain of its new form, having last designed fashion in 2011 with my line Vagadu. Without expectations, I brought only beads and a touch of leather, embraced by Cuba’s simplicity—no internet, no phone, just raw presence, writing, and allowing creativity to flow freely. Slowly, necklaces emerged—seven in all, each a story, a poem capturing that time, living and breathing in each strand.

I dared to expose myself in my artwork—posing nude for the collection, creating an art video to honor that vulnerability. These necklaces became a sacred act, a spiritual connection expressed through tangible objects. It was the first time I let spirit guide my work—channeling rather than designing to fit seasons. That experience marked a healing origin, a deepening of my spiritual approach to fashion. From it, arose a concept I may revisit: objects that breathe us awake, honoring their sacredness in creation. These necklaces tell the story of a soul’s awakening, a journey back to art, Spirit, and self.
