Las Cáscaras

"Las Cáscaras" was a performance I created with Melanie Loske Reuter, after six months of collecting eggshells. Inspired by the idea of using the light well in my house, the performance emerged from a spontaneous exploration of space, body, and material. Melanie, a long-time performer and my close collaborator, shares a similar body and presence, which created a visual symmetry and a sense of comfort that allowed us to delve deeply into the act of nakedness, vulnerability, and transformation. The eggs, symbolizing both destruction and birth, became a powerful metaphor for cycles of death and renewal. As we moved and cracked the shells on our bodies and feet, the sound of breaking eggs became a visceral articulation of spiritual and physical release. The photographs and videos documenting this exploration capture the raw, poetic essence of the moment—an intimate dance of vulnerability, creation, and rebirth.
